Vignesh Raja

Student and Computer Scientist

Education

I am currently an undergraduate Chancellor's Scholar and James Scholar majoring in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). In June 2011, I graduated from Whitney High School with highest honors.

Research Interests

My research interests include cloud computing, computational biology, data compression methods, machine learning, and parallel computing.

For two consecutive summers, I interned at the UCLA Center for Embedded Networked Sensing and developed research-oriented Android applications.

I also participated in the Siemens National Research Competition and with a team, developed and tested an alternative method of compressing video footage.

As a hobby, robotic engineering also interests me.
